XTELL's previous work involved the development of the Ohio University Diabetes/Endocrine Diseases Biorepository.

How Does the Ohio University Biorepository Work?

• After obtaining informed consent, blood samples are collected, labeled, and transferred to the Biorepository
• At the Biorepository, samples are processed, separated into fractions, bar-coded, and then gradually frozen to -80 degrees Celsius
• The biorepository has a sophisticated inventory management program to track all specimens
• Finally, the blood samples are linked to the patient medical record system, Praxis®.

Data Management

• Inventory of all blood samples
• Thermal bar-coding/encryption
• Dynamic database linking between the biorepository database and patient medical records database
  

Network and Security

• Virtual Private Network between the Edison Biotechnology Institute and University Medical Associates
• The transfer of this clinical information will be confidential and no personal identifiers will be released from the OU Database/Biorepository to any investigator
